The Avalanche announced today that the team has activated defenseman Adam Foote and forward Matt Hendricks from the injured reserve list. The Avalanche also announced today that the club has placed defenseman Kyle Cumiskey (foot) on IR (retroactive to Nov. 23) and placed defenseman Tom Preissing on waivers.

The Avalanche announced today that the team has recalled forward Chris Durno and defenseman Brian Fahey from the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL. Durno is being recalled for the third time this season. He has played in five games with Colorado this year, tallying one assist. Fahey was acquired from the Rangers this past July. He has appeared in all 20 games with Lake Erie this season, recording five goals and one assist. The Avalanche also announced today that defenseman Adam Foote has been placed on the injured reserve list (retroactive to Nov. 17). On Thursday, the Avalanche reassigned forward T.J. Hensick to Lake Erie.

Brian Burke, president and GM of the Maple Leafs, announced Tuesday that the club has recalled goaltender Joey MacDonald from the Marlies of the AHL. The Leafs also announced that forward John Mitchell and goaltender Vesa Toskala have been taken from the active roster and placed on injured reserve. MacDonald was originally recalled by the Leafs on October 8 and played in three games, posting a 3.35 goals against average and a .875 save percentage. The 6?0, 197-pound native of Pictou, Nova Scotia was originally signed as free agent by the Leafs on August, 10, 2009.

The Blue Jackets have placed forward Derek Dorsett on Injured Reserve retroactive to November 19, GM Scott Howson announced today. Dorsett was injured against Dallas on November 19. He has registered one goal and three assists for four points, 51 penalty minutes and a +2 plus/minus rating in 18 games this season. He ranks tied for ninth in the NHL in penalty minutes. He was the Blue Jackets? ninth pick, 189th overall, in the 2006 Entry Draft.

Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik will return to the lineup Saturday against the Thrashers, a report said Friday. Orpik has been out since November 10 because of an unspecified injury.

The Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has activated forward T.J. Galiardi and defenseman John-Michael Liles from the injured reserve list. Galiardi has missed the last nine games due to an ankle injury suffered on Oct. 28 at Calgary. The rookie forward has appeared in 13 games for Colorado this season, tallying six points. Liles, who suffered a shoulder injury on Nov. 6 vs. Chicago, has missed the last five games. The defenseman has totaled five points in 10 contests this year. The Avalanche also announced today that the team has reassigned forward Chris Durno to the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL and placed forward Matt Hendricks on the injured reserve list (retroactive to Nov. 14) due to a groin injury.

The Stars have placed winger Fabian Brunnstrom on the injured list with a shoulder injury, according to an Associated Press report. The move Thursday was retroactive to Nov. 7, the last time Brunnstrom played before hurting the shoulder in practice.

The Kings have activated defensemen Alec Martinez off the injured reserve list and have assigned him to the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL, Kings President/GM Dean Lombardi announced today. Martinez has played in one game for the Kings this season ? his NHL debut on Oct. 3. He suffered an ankle injury during practice two days later and was placed on the injured reserve list Oct. 29 (retroactive to Oct. 5).

The Blue Jackets have activated forward Raffi Torres off Injured Reserve, GM Scott Howson announced today. Torres, who was injured against Detroit on November 11, has collected 8-1-9 and 10 penalty minutes in 17 games this season. He ranks second on the club in goals, while his four power play goals rank tied for 14th in the NHL.

Penguins defenseman Alex Goligoski will miss at least two weeks with a lower body injury. Goligoski, who plays the point on the power play, left Pittsburgh's 6-5 overtime victory against Boston on Saturday.
