Brian Burke, president and GM of the Maple Leafs, announced Tuesday that the club has recalled goaltender Joey MacDonald from the Marlies of the AHL. The Leafs also announced that forward John Mitchell and goaltender Vesa Toskala have been taken from the active roster and placed on injured reserve. MacDonald was originally recalled by the Leafs on October 8 and played in three games, posting a 3.35 goals against average and a .875 save percentage. The 6?0, 197-pound native of Pictou, Nova Scotia was originally signed as free agent by the Leafs on August, 10, 2009.
