Blues' Oskar Sundqvist Out For Season With Torn ACL

St. Louis Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee, the team announced Wednesday.

Sundqvist was injured after being checked into the boards by Vegas defenseman Brayden McNabb during the second period of Monday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Golden Knights. Sundqvist needed help from his teammates to get off the ice and did not return to the game.

Sundqvist will undergo surgery and be re-evaluated in six months, the team said Wednesday.

The defenseman collided with new teammate Vladimir Tarasenko at center ice late in the first period of the Panthers’ 5-1 win against the Calgary Flames on Saturday and did not return.

Gabriel Landeskog Could Return To Avs For Playoffs

Gabriel Landeskog could return to the Colorado Avalanche at some point during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, coach Jared Bednar said Sunday.

"It's in the playoff timeframe,” Bednar said.

The 31-year-old forward had cartilage transplant surgery in his right knee on May 10, 2023, and was ruled out for the regular season. There had been speculation on whether he’d be ready to return at the start of the playoffs, but Bednar reiterated that Landeskog won’t return to the lineup until he’s fully recovered.
