The Red Wings will be without Kris Draper and Pavel Datsyuk in Game One of the Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday night. Detroit coach Mike Babcock said that Datsyuk will be unavailable for the fourth straight game because of a foot injury. Draper has been out for a while with a lower-body injury. The Red Wings will, however, get Nicklas Lidstrom and Jonathan Ericsson back for the opening game of the Finals.

Flyers forward Simon Gagne has had surgery to remove a bone spur and adhesions that built up in his right hip, according to an Associated Press report. Gagne had the surgery on Thursday and was expected to recover in four to six weeks.

Blackhawks' Martin Havlat and Nikolai Khabibulin skipped the team?s practice on Tuesday but were set to make the trip to Detroit for Game 5 of the Western Conference finals, according to an Associated Press report. Coach Joel Quenneville said both would be evaluated after Wednesday morning?s pre-game skate.

The Red Wings will be without defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom and center Pavel Datsyuk in Game 4 against the Blackhawks. "Lower body, day to day," Detroit general manager Ken Holland told ESPN.com of Lidstrom on Sunday. Datsyuk will sit with a foot injury.

The Blackhawks could be without both Martin Havlat and Nikolai Khabibulin in Game 4 against the Red Wings. Khabibulin played the first two periods Friday before leaving with an injury, while Havlat was flattened by Detroit's Niklas Kronwall.

Pavel Datsyuk missed Detroit's practice on Thursday, and is considered day-to-day for Friday's Game 3 against Chicago. "He's day to day," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "He took a rocket off the foot the other night. You go from there and see what happens. We'll see what happens after the morning skate."

Hurricanes forward Erik Cole took part in a game-day skate and is expected to play in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Penguins on Thursday. On Wednesday, the Hurricanes weren?t optimistic Cole would play because of a left knee injury. Cole was struck by Penguins forward Matt Cooke?s right knee as both players skated across the slot late in the third period of Pittsburgh?s 3-2 win in Game 1.

Martin Havlat is "fine," according to Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville and is expected to play in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals against the Red Wings, as reported by ESPN.com. Havlat was on the ice Tuesday morning at the beginning of the teams optional skate. Quenneville was short when asked about his winger, but he said Havlat won't be limited. Havlat was hit awkwardly along the boards in Game 1 and missed practice on Monday. He was seen Monday walking with a limp.

Flyers center Danny Briere will have corrective eye surgery Tuesday, according to an Associated Press report. GM Paul Holmgren says Briere will have a procedure called photorefractive keratectomy. He will take a few weeks to recover.

Pittsburgh's Sergei Gonchar expects to play in Game One of the team's Eastern Conference Finals series against Carolina on Monday night. "It looks promising," he said. "I don't want to say anything [conclusive] right now, but there's a good chance." Gonchar missed two games in the second round against Washington after banging knees with Alexander Ovechkin in Game 4.
