Draper, Datsyuk Out For Game One

The Red Wings will be without Kris Draper and Pavel Datsyuk in Game One of the Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday night. Detroit coach Mike Babcock said that Datsyuk will be unavailable for the fourth straight game because of a foot injury. Draper has been out for a while with a lower-body injury. The Red Wings will, however, get Nicklas Lidstrom and Jonathan Ericsson back for the opening game of the Finals.

Flyers forward Simon Gagne has had surgery to remove a bone spur and adhesions that built up in his right hip, according to an Associated Press report. Gagne had the surgery on Thursday and was expected to recover in four to six weeks.

Hurricanes forward Erik Cole took part in a game-day skate and is expected to play in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Penguins on Thursday. On Wednesday, the Hurricanes weren?t optimistic Cole would play because of a left knee injury. Cole was struck by Penguins forward Matt Cooke?s right knee as both players skated across the slot late in the third period of Pittsburgh?s 3-2 win in Game 1.

Blackhawks' Havlat Expects To Play In Game 2

Martin Havlat is "fine," according to Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville and is expected to play in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals against the Red Wings, as reported by ESPN.com. Havlat was on the ice Tuesday morning at the beginning of the teams optional skate. Quenneville was short when asked about his winger, but he said Havlat won't be limited. Havlat was hit awkwardly along the boards in Game 1 and missed practice on Monday. He was seen Monday walking with a limp.
