Red Wings center Chris Draper expects to be ready to take the ice for the team in the second round of the playoffs. Draper missed the final two games of the regular season and the team's four-game sweep of the Blue Jackets with an undisclosed upper-body injury. "I'm going to the doctor's probably the day before we play," Draper said. "I gotta get the nod from this guy. We'll see what happens. Obviously, watch tonight's (Sharks-Ducks) game like everyone else, see what's going on and find out when we're playing and go the day before Game 1. "Physically everything feels good, but it's really out of my control."

The Wild say Marc-Andre Bergeron?s back surgery was a success, according to an Associated Press report. Bergeron had the surgery Tuesday to address what the team called a ?disc issue.? He is scheduled to begin a rehabilitation program on Wednesday that will take approximately six to eight weeks.

Flames defenseman Dion Phaneuf will not play against the Blackhawks on Monday night after taking a hard hit during their game over the weekend, according to an Associated Press report. Phaneuf was hit by Troy Brouwer with about 8 minutes left in Saturday?s Game 5, which the Blackhawks won to take a 3-2 series lead.

Jamie Langenbrunner is expected back in the Devils? lineup for Game 6 of their playoff series against the Hurricanes, as reported by the Associated Press. Langenbrunner took part in the Devils? morning skate ahead of the game Sunday night. Afterward coach Brent Sutter said ?it?s always nice to have our captain back in the lineup.? The right winger missed three games with what was described as a lower body injury.

Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom will have surgery on his left hip according to an Associated Press report on Tuesday. The operation will be performed Friday in Vail, Colo., by Dr. Marc Philippon. He?s the same surgeon who operated on the hip of Yankees star Alex Rodriguez in March.

Devils captain Jamie Langenbrunner will miss the team's next two games after suffering a lower body injury on Friday night. "Jamie Langenbrunner will not be with us on this trip," New Jersey general manager Lou Lamoriello said late Saturday afternoon. "He'll be out these next two games. We'll see how he is when we get back. He's not out of the series."

New Jersey captain Jamie Langenbrunner left Game 2 of the team's first-round series against Carolina because of a lower body injury. He left in the second period and did not return.

Rangers center Chris Drury remains day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. "Every day it gets a little bit better, but it's still day-to-day," said Drury. "I hope to be ready for [tomorrow]." New York defeated Washington 4-3 on Wednesday night. Drury sustained the injury on April 9th while blocking a shot against the Flyers. "I prepared [for Game 1] as if I were playing because I didn't want to get caught if it went the other way," said Drury. "I'll do the same thing again and see what happens."

Minnesota left wing Andrew Brunette will have surgery to repair the torn ACL in his right knee on Thursday. Brunette still managed to play the final three months of the season, despite the injury.

Red Wings forward Marian Hossa will sit out the team's final two regular season games because of a groin injury. Hossa had an MRI on Friday, and it revealed no tear after he left Thursday's night game with the injury. "I felt a little pull when I went off the ice," Hossa said. "No sense this time of year to push it. "I kind of went one way and their player kind of took my leg a little bit the other way and I felt a stretch and felt a little in the groin."
