Draper Thinks He'll Be Ready For Round Two

Red Wings center Chris Draper expects to be ready to take the ice for the team in the second round of the playoffs. Draper missed the final two games of the regular season and the team's four-game sweep of the Blue Jackets with an undisclosed upper-body injury. "I'm going to the doctor's probably the day before we play," Draper said. "I gotta get the nod from this guy. We'll see what happens. Obviously, watch tonight's (Sharks-Ducks) game like everyone else, see what's going on and find out when we're playing and go the day before Game 1. "Physically everything feels good, but it's really out of my control."

The Wild say Marc-Andre Bergeron?s back surgery was a success, according to an Associated Press report. Bergeron had the surgery Tuesday to address what the team called a ?disc issue.? He is scheduled to begin a rehabilitation program on Wednesday that will take approximately six to eight weeks.

Langenbrunner took part in the Devils? morning skate ahead of the game Sunday night. Afterward coach Brent Sutter said ?it?s always nice to have our captain back in the lineup.? The right winger missed three games with what was described as a lower body injury.

Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom will have surgery on his left hip according to an Associated Press report on Tuesday. The operation will be performed Friday in Vail, Colo., by Dr. Marc Philippon. He?s the same surgeon who operated on the hip of Yankees star Alex Rodriguez in March.

New York defeated Washington 4-3 on Wednesday night. Drury sustained the injury on April 9th while blocking a shot against the Flyers. "I prepared [for Game 1] as if I were playing because I didn't want to get caught if it went the other way," said Drury. "I'll do the same thing again and see what happens."

Hossa had an MRI on Friday, and it revealed no tear after he left Thursday's night game with the injury. "I felt a little pull when I went off the ice," Hossa said.
