The Washington Capitals have re-signed T.J. Oshie, bringing the forward back on an eight-year, $46 million deal, the team announced Friday.

He will count $5.75 million against the salary cap through the 2024-25 season.

Oshie had a stellar season playing on the first line with Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom in 2016-17, scoring a career-high 33 goals.

Phil Housley still remembers Sabres fans at Memorial Auditorium in opening his Hall of Fame career in Buffalo during the 1980s.

The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed goalie Linus Ullmark to a two-year, $1.5 million contract extension.

Ullmark completed the final year of his rookie contract and was eligible to become a restricted free agent next month. Though he spent much of the past two seasons being groomed in the minors, Ullmark has an 8-11-2 record in 21 NHL career games.

Bob Boughner is Florida's new coach, introduced at a news conference Monday afternoon. The former NHL defenseman becomes the 15th coach in the franchise's 24-year history, and its fifth since 2011.

General manager Dale Tallon said Boughner sees the game in a modern way and is the right leader to get the Panthers back toward competing for the Stanley Cup. Tallon said Boughner blew away the team with his interview late last month.

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere to a $27 million, six-year contract extension.

Gostisbehere, 24, had seven goals and 39 points in 76 games this season, a drop-off from a rookie season that saw Flyers fans chanting for "Ghost."

He had 17 goals and 46 points as rookie.

The Philadelphia Flyers have hired rising coaching star Kris Knoblauch as an assistant.

Knoblauch was Connor McDavid's junior coach and is coming off an Ontario Hockey League championship with the Erie Otters. The 38-year-old has led Erie to four consecutive 50-win seasons.

The San Jose Sharks have re-signed goalie Troy Grosenick to a two-year contract extension.

General manager Doug Wilson announced on Monday the deal to keep the AHL's top goaltender under contract. Grosenick had been eligible to be an unrestricted free agent in July.
