The Stars have signed defenseman Trevor Daley to a six-year contract extension worth $19.8 million.
Daley's new contract is worth $3.5 million in each of the first four years before dropping to $3.1 million in 2015-16 and $2.7 million on 2016-17.
He could have become an unrestricted free agent after the season.

Blues Sign Svatos Away From KHL
The Blues have signed free-agent forward Marek Svatos to a one-year contract.
The two-way deal is worth $800,000 in the NHL, and $105,000 in the minors.
Svatos, 28, has been playing with Omsk Avangard of Russia's Kontinental Hockey League.
Ducks Extend Randy Carlyle
The Ducks announced today that the club has signed head coach Randy Carlyle to a one-year contract extension through the 2011-12 NHL season. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.
