Brunner played for the Detroit Red Wings last season.

Brunner gives the Devils an abundance of forwards in camp.

Oilers Sign Nugent-Hopkins To Extension

The Oilers have signed forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to a seven-year contract extension, the team announced Thursday.

The deal is worth $42 million total, a source told ESPN's Pierre LeBrun.

Alex Pietrangelo Agrees To $45.5M Deal With Blues

Alex Pietrangelo has agreed to a seven-year, $45.5 million contract with the St. Louis Blues.

"What I said to him, 'This isn't a seven-year deal, this is just another stepping stone,'" GM Doug Armstrong said. "I think he's excited to be here, I know we're excited to have him, get him in here and turn him over to the coach."

Pietrangelo led the team's defensemen with 24 points -- five goals and 19 assists -- and was among the league leaders with an average of 25 minutes per game. 

Pietrangelo had been holding out.

"We kept him up to date until we couldn't speak to him anymore," Ken Hitchcock said. "He knows the last couple weeks what's going on ... players have kept him up to date."

Cody Hodgson Gets Six-Year Deal

The Sabres have re-signed center Cody Hodgson to a six-year deal a day before the team opens training camp, according to an ESPN.com report.

The Sabres announced the signing Wednesday after players reported for physicals. Hodgson was already in Buffalo and is expected to be present for the team's first practice Thursday.

Bowman Gets Extension From Blackhawks

The Blackhawks announced a two-year contract extension for GM Stan Bowman on Wednesday, according to an ESPN.com report.

Bowman's contract will run through the 2017-18 season. The 40-year-old Bowman, who is the NHL's youngest GM, is entering his 13th season with the Blackhawks and was promoted to GM on July 14, 2009.

Leafs Sign Nazem Kadri To Two-Year Deal

David Nonis, Senior Vice President and GM of the Maple Leafs, announced Tuesday evening that the club has signed restricted free agent Nazem Kadri to a two-year contract.
 
Kadri, 22, collected 44 points (18 goals, 26 assists) in all 48 regular season games this past season. 

The native of London, Ontario recorded two hat-tricks and 11 multiple-point games in 2013.  Kadri was the Leafs’ first choice, seventh overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Coyotes GM Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have re-signed left wing Mikkel Boedker to a two-year contract. 

"We are pleased to sign Mikkel prior to the beginning of training camp," said Maloney. "Mikkel is an important player for us and having him under contract makes us a better team."
