Ducks Extend Frederik Andersen Through 2015-16

The Ducks announced today that the club has signed goaltender Frederik Andersen to a two-year contract extension through the 2015-16 season. 

Andersen, 24, made his NHL debut on Oct. 20 vs. Dallas, coming on in relief of Jonas Hiller in the second period. In 40 minutes, Andersen stopped all 24 shots he faced en route to a 6-3 Ducks comeback victory.

Coyotes Sign Jeff Halpern To One-Year, Two-Way Deal

Coyotes GM Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed forward Jeff Halpern to a one-year, two-way contract.

Last season, Halpern recorded 1-2-3 and 10 penalty minutes in 46 games with the Rangers and Canadiens.

In parts of 13 NHL seasons with the Capitals, Stars, Lightning, Kings, Canadiens and Rangers, the 37-year-old forward has played in 907 regular season games, recording 147-214-361 and 617 PIM.  

Halpern was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Washington on March 29, 1999.
