The Ducks announced today that the club has signed all-time franchise leading scorer Teemu Selanne to a one-year contract through the 2013-14 NHL season.
“It’s great to have Teemu back. He clearly still has passion for the game and can’t wait to get started,” said Executive Vice President/GM Bob Murray. “We are so pleased that Teemu will end his career where he belongs.”
Selanne, 43, enters his 15th season with Anaheim (1996-01; 2005-present) having amassed 448-513=961 points in 902 games in a Ducks uniform.
“I’m so happy to be back,” said Selanne. “I’ve always wanted to finish my career in Anaheim, and I plan on making it count.”

The Bruins have signed GM Peter Chiarelli to a four-year contract extension through the 2017-18 season, according to an ESPN.com report on Thursday.
Chiarelli had one year remaining on his current deal.
The Devils re-signed center Adam Henrique to a multiyear contract, the team announced Monday.
The deal is worth $24M over six years, a source confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com's Katie Strang.
Henrique had 11 goals and five assists in 42 games for the Devils last season.
The Bruins announced Tuesday the promotion of Keith Gretzky to director of amateur scouting and the hiring of former Bruins forward P.J. Axelsson as a European amateur scout and Keith Sullivan as an amateur scout, according to an ESPN.com report.
The Red Wings re-signed center Gustav Nyquist to a two-year deal, the team announced Tuesday.
Nyquist, who turns 24 on Sept. 1, appeared in 22 games for the Red Wings last season, totaling three goals and three assists. He then had two goals and three assists in 14 games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, according to an NHL.com report.
The Penguins announced Monday that Mike Bales, the team's goaltending development coach, has been promoted to goaltending coach and will work on coach Dan Byslma's staff, according to an NHL.com report.
Bales replaces Gilles Meloche, who announced his retirement from the position in June after seven seasons on the job.
The Canadiens on Monday announced the team signed goaltender Dustin Tokarski to a one-year, two-way contract, according to an NHL.com report
Tokarski, 23, last played in the NHL with the Lightning during the 2011-12 season, going 1-3-1.
Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that the club has named Scott Arniel as the team’s new Associate Coach, while former Rangers Ulf Samuelsson and Daniel Lacroix will re-join the team as Assistant Coaches.
Arniel, 50, brings 13 years of professional coaching experience to the Rangers’ bench, which includes serving as Head Coach for the Blue Jackets for 123 games.
Samuelsson, 49, joins the Rangers’ bench after spending the last two seasons as Head Coach of the Swedish Hockey League’s Modo Hockey, where he posted a 38-15-16-41 record.
Lacroix, 44, joins the Rangers’ bench after spending six of the last seven seasons in the NHL as an Assistant Coach with the,Lightning and Islanders.
The Blackhawks have hired Steve Weeks as the club's goaltending coach, the team announced Monday.
"We are thrilled with the addition of Steve Weeks to our organization," Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman said in a statement. "He has over two decades of professional hockey experience and is a well-respected coach both on and off the ice."
Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen announced today that Bill Zito, the founder and former president of Acme World Sports, has joined the club as an assistant general manager.
“Bill Zito is an astute businessman who understands all facets of our game and will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Columbus Blue Jackets,” said Kekalainen. “I have known Bill for many years and believe he will be a great addition to our hockey operations staff as we continue our efforts to build a championship-caliber team.”
