Jussi Jokinen Stays With Hurricanes

The Hurricanes re-signed forward Jussi Jokinen on Thursday to a three-year contract worth $9M. The team announced the deal one day before Jokinen was due to become an unrestricted free agent. Jokinen, 28, will make $3M a year through 2013-14. He made $1.9M last season, when he had 52 points in 70 games.

The Lightning have re-signed goaltender Dwayne Roloson to a one-year contract today, vice president and GM Steve Yzerman announced. “We are happy to bring Dwayne back into the fold today,” Yzerman said. “He proved his worth both in the regular season and playoffs last year, bringing stability to our team. He is a proven veteran and we are pleased to have him back for the upcoming season.” “I’m extremely excited to return to the Lightning,” Roloson said. “It is a great organization and we had a great run last season. I’m looking forward to trying to do it again in 2011-12.” Roloson played in 34 games with the Lightning last season after being acquired on January 1, 2011. He went on to post an 18-12-4 record with a .912 save percentage, 2.56 goals-against average and four shutouts during the regular season.

The Lightning have re-signed center Adam Hall to a one-year, one-way contract today, vice president and Gm Steve Yzerman announced. "We are pleased to have Adam return to the Lightning for another season,” Yzerman said. “His outstanding work ethic and leadership were, and will continue to be, very important to us." Hall played in all 82 games with the Lightning last season, recording seven goals and 18 points. He was Tampa Bay’s nominee for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy after battling his way back to the NHL in 2010-11. He was one of four Bolts to play in all 82 games. The 30-year-old veteran also played in all 18 Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Lightning as they made it to within one game of the Stanley Cup Final. He recorded a goal and five points during the postseason.

Jackets Sign Mike Blunden To One-Year NHL-AHL Deal

The Blue Jackets have signed forward Mike Blunden to a one-year, two-way NHL-AHL contract, Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations and GM Scott Howson announced today. Blunden appeared in one game for the Blue Jackets in 2010-11. He collected 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points and had 41 penalty minutes in 37 games with the Springfield Falcons, Columbus’ AHL affiliate. He missed the majority of the season due to injury. The Toronto, Ontario native registered 2-2-4, 59 penalty minutes and was +3 in 40 games with the Blue Jackets in 2009-10.

The Avalanche announced today that the team has signed forward David Jones to a one-year contract through the 2011-12 season. Jones, 26, shared the team goal-scoring lead with a career-high 27 goals in 2010-11. He also set career bests in games (77), assists (18) and points (45). The Guelph, Ontario native led Colorado with four game-winning tallies and set a new single-season franchise record with three overtime goals. “We are pleased to have David under contract,” said Avalanche GM/Executive Vice President Greg Sherman. “He was one of our top offensive players a year ago and is part of the young nucleus of this team.”
