The Canadiens announced that goaltender Carey Price will miss at least the next six weeks with a lower-body injury.

Price, who was originally injured Oct. 29 in a 4-3 loss at Edmonton, will not require surgery.

The Stars have placed goalie Kari Lehtonen on the injured list, clearing the way for prospect Jack Campbell to back up Anti Niemi.

Campbell was called up from the Texas Stars of the AHL on Thursday along with defenseman Patrik Nemeth. Lehtonen replaced Niemi in the second period of Tuesday's loss to Ottawa but left after just eight minutes with an upper-body injury.

Blues center Paul Stastny will return to the lineup for St. Louis' game at Buffalo on Monday night after missing 16 games with a broken right foot.

In confirming Stastny will return, coach Ken Hitchcock said veteran forward Scott Gomez will be a healthy scratch.

Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta was released from a hospital Wednesday night but is expected to miss three to four weeks.

Maatta was hit from behind by the Wild's Nino Niederrelter midway through the second period Tuesday.

There was initial concern that Maatta might have suffered damage to his internal organs, but a source told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that the injury was mostly muscular.

The Avalanche claimed forward Chris Wagner off waivers from the Ducks, according to an ESPN.com report on Sunday.

To make room on the roster, Colorado placed goaltender Semyon Varlamov on injured reserve with a groin injury.

Penguins forward Pascal Dupuis tested negative for blood clot issues after he experienced possible symptoms, coach Mike Johnston said after the Penguins beat the Oilers 2-1 Friday night.

Dupuis was a late scratch Friday after feeling symptoms that could have been clot-related and was taken to the hospital.

Oilers rookie forward Connor McDavid is expected to be out "months" with a broken left clavicle, general manager Peter Chiarelli said Wednesday.

Chiarelli said McDavid, the first overall pick in this year's draft, will require surgery after breaking his collarbone in Tuesday night's win over the Flyers.

It was a costly win for the Oilers on Tuesday night, according to an ESPN.com report

Connor McDavid, the overall No. 1 pick in the 2015 draft, had an upper-body injury that was described by coach Todd McLellan as "long term."

McDavid left the game late in the second period favoring his left shoulder after an awkward collision at full speed into the boards.
