Ryan McDonagh Played With Broken Foot

Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh was playing through a broken foot, coach Alain Vigneault revealed after New York was eliminated from the playoffs with loss to the Lightning in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals Friday night at Madison Square Garden.

"[Ryan] played through a lot of pain," Vigneault said, adding that McDonagh played through the injury for "a couple games."

Lightning Expect Matt Carle To Play In Game 5

The Tampa Bay Lightning expect Matt Carle to return to the lineup for Game 5.

Carle, who missed Game 4 on Friday with an undisclosed injury, had played in all 16 Stanley Cup Playoff games prior to that. He took part in the morning skate and was optimistic.

"I feel good," Carle said. "I don't know if I'm playing yet, but we will see."

Ryan Callahan Out Indefinitely

Lightning right winger Ryan Callahan is out indefinitely after undergoing an emergency appendectomy Monday night, per multiple reports and a team source who spoke to ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun.

The 30-year-old had abdominal pain late Monday afternoon before checking into Tampa General Hospital for surgery, the team source told LeBrun.

Team spokesman Bill Wickett said Callahan's return to the ice is "undetermined" at this time.

Blackhawks Lose Michal Rozsival For Season With Broken Ankle

Michal Rozsival will miss the remainder of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the Chicago Blackhawks after sustaining a fractured left ankle in Game 4 of their Western Conference Second Round series against the Minnesota Wild.

"He will require surgery to repair it. He is not expected to return to full hockey activity until next season," the Blackhawks said in a statement Friday.
