The Minnesota Wild signed defenseman Alex Goligoski to a two-year, $4 million contract extension on Wednesday.

The 36-year-old Goligoski is in his first season with the Wild, his home-state club. He has two goals, 26 assists and a team-leading plus-34 rating in 58 games.

The Arizona Coyotes have signed goalie Karel Vejmelka to a three-year contract extension.

Terms of the deal announced Monday were not released.

The Carolina Hurricanes, chasing the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference and looking toward a Stanley Cup this season, took a well-planned step Monday toward ensuring their future after this season as well.

The Hurricanes, leaders of the Metropolitan Division, signed forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi to an eight-year extension, which would keep the 21-year-old forward with the franchise through the 2029-30 season.

At the trade deadline, the Boston Bruins found a spark right under their noses -- signing forward Jake DeBrusk to a two-year extension with an annual cap hit of $4 million.

DeBrusk has had an up-and-down tenure with Boston, leading to trade rumors.

Tomas Hertl and the San Jose Sharks have agreed to an eight-year contract extension, with the team locking up its longtime center just days before the trade deadline.

The average annual value of the deal is $8,137,500, a source told ESPN's Greg Wyshynski, and it includes a no-move clause for the first three years and a limited no-trade clause in the other five.

The Dallas Stars have signed forward Joe Pavelski to a $5.5 million, one-year contract extension for the 2022-23 season.

The 37-year-old Pavelski leads the Stars in assists (37) and points (59) and is third with 22 goals in the final year of a $21 million, three-year deal he signed after spending his first 13 seasons in San Jose. 

The Flyers signed defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen to a five-year contract extension, the team announced Thursday.

The deal is worth $5.1 million per year, Flyers president of hockey operations and general manager Chuck Fletcher said.

Norm Maciver is returning to the Chicago Blackhawks after he was hired as associate general manager under new GM Kyle Davidson.

The team announced Maciver's return on Wednesday. The 57-year-old Maciver had been working as the director of player personnel for the Seattle Kraken.

"Bringing in Norm is the first of many hires we plan to make as we restructure our hockey operations," Davidson said in a release. 

The Seattle Kraken have made it clear they see forward Jared McCann as a key part of their core moving forward.

The Kraken signed McCann to a five-year, $25 million contract extension Tuesday, locking up a young player who has emerged during the expansion team's first season.

The Arizona Coyotes have signed center Travis Boyd to a two-year contract.

Terms of the deal announced Saturday were not released.

Boyd, 28, has set career highs this season with 10 goals and 24 points in 46 games with Arizona.
