Coyotes Sign Dysin Mayo To Three-Year Deal

The Arizona Coyotes have signed defenseman Dysin Mayo to a three-year contract.

Terms of the deal announced Friday were not released.

Mayo, 25, has three goals and three assists in 42 games with Arizona this season.

Sean Avery has signed a standard player contract with the ECHL Orlando Solar Bears, the team announced Wednesday.

The 41-year-old forward last appeared in an NHL game on Dec. 10, 2011, with the New York Rangers. He has been added to the team's reserve list.

As a pro scout for the Seattle Kraken since 2019 -- the first female scout in NHL history -- she spent ample time in the press box at Vancouver's Rogers Arena, checking out talent for the league's newest team.

Now, she'll have a new view. The Canucks named Granato to assistant general manager Thursday.

The St. Louis Blues announced a three-year contract extension Wednesday with coach Craig Berube.

The 56-year-old Berube is 133-72-30 (.630) in 3½ seasons with the Blues and was a finalist for the Jack Adams Award in 2019 when he led the Blues to the first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history.

Scott Niedermayer Joins Ducks As Special Adviser

Hall of Fame defenseman Scott Niedermayer has joined the Anaheim Ducks' front office as a special adviser to the hockey operations department.

New Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek on Tuesday announced the "enhanced role" in the front office for Niedermayer, the captain of Anaheim's only Stanley Cup-winning team in 2007.

"His winning culture and great hockey mind will help all of our players and staff moving forward," Verbeek said.

Flyers Name Danny Briere Special Assistant To GM

The Flyers have named former franchise great Danny Briere special assistant to the general manager.

The 44-year-old Briere, who retired after the 2014-15 season, will be involved in all aspects of the club's hockey operations, including scouting and player development. He joins the Flyers operations staff after parts of five years with the Maine Mariners of the ECHL, most recently as team president.
