NHL Fans Vote Stamkos, Kadri, Zibanejad, Terry To ASG Roster

Centers Steven Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Nazem Kadri of the Colorado Avalanche and Mika Zibanejad of the New York Rangers, and Anaheim winger Troy Terry won the final roster spots for All-Star Weekend as a result of fan voting, the NHL announced Monday.

Canadiens Hire Former Agent Kent Hughes As New GM

The Montreal Canadiens hired player agent Kent Hughes to a five-year deal as their general manager Tuesday, hoping he can turn around a team with the worst record in the NHL.

The 51-year-old Montreal native, who becomes the 18th general manager in franchise history, replaces Marc Bergevin, who was fired Nov. 28 following the Canadiens' poor start.

Claude Julien Named Canada Hockey Coach, Shane Doan Named GM

Claude Julien was named coach of Canada's men's hockey team for the Beijing Olympics on Friday, and Shane Doan was named general manager.

Doan and Julien replace St. Louis GM Doug Armstrong and Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper, who vacated their positions on the national team when the NHL pulled out of an agreement to send its players to the Olympics last month.

NHL Reveals All-Star Game Rosters

The NHL has revealed its rosters for the 2022 All-Star Game in Las Vegas, with some significant names missing from the teams.

The All-Star Game again will feature four divisional teams -- Metropolitan, Atlantic, Central and Pacific -- playing in a 3-on-3 tournament. 

The All-Star Game will be Feb. 5 (3 p.m. ET on ABC and simulcast on ESPN+), with the skills competition taking place the day before on Feb. 4 (7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN) from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Oilers GM Ken Holland Confirms Talks With Evander Kane's Agent

Edmonton Oilers general manager Ken Holland confirmed that he has spoken with the agent for Evander Kane, the controversial free-agent winger whose contract was terminated by the San Jose Sharks on Sunday.

Holland said he has had conversations about Kane with agent Dan Milstein, who was also the agent for former Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk when Holland was GM in Detroit.

"As the manager, it's my responsibility to investigate every situation," Holland said.

Bruins Sign Tuuka Rask For The Rest Of The Season

The Boston Bruins on Tuesday signed Tuukka Rask for the rest of the season, bringing back the winningest goalie in franchise history after he recovered from offseason hip surgery.

General manager Don Sweeney said Rask will back up Linus Ullmark for Wednesday night's game against the rival Montreal Canadiens.

Bergevin was fired by Montreal on Nov. 28, ending a 10-year run with the Canadiens.
