Panthers left wing David Booth returned from a concussion on Sunday against the Islanders. Booth had missed 45 games after suffering a concussion on Oct. 24 in a game against the Flyers. He had a career-high 31 goals and 29 assists during Florida's 2008-09 campaign.

Coyotes forward Scottie Upshall is out indefinitely with a torn ACL in his right knee. Phoenix general manager Don Maloney made the announcement before Sunday's game against the Stars. Upshall was injured in Thursday's 3-2 win over Calgary.

Stars rookie center Tom Wandell will have season-ending knee surgery after tearing an anterior cruciate ligament last week against Vancouver, according to an Associated Press report. The Stars put Wandell on the injured list Thursday, a week after the 22-year-old injured his left knee in a loss to the Canucks.

Stars coach Marc Crawford said he expects wingers Jere Lehtinen and Brenden Morrow to play Wednesday against the Flames. The club is confident enough in that assessment that Ray Sawada was sent to the Texas Stars, Dallas' AHL affiliate, according to an ESPN.com report.

Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury went through a full practice Saturday and is expected to start Sunday in Philadelphia, according to an Associated Press report. Fleury, a member of the Canadian Olympic team, has missed three games with a broken ring finger on his left hand. He is using a different type of glove that accommodates a splint on the broken finger.

Canadiens defenseman Paul Mara has an upper-body injury and will not play against the Rangers, according to an Associated Press report. Coach Jacques Martin said on Saturday that Mara would be examined by team doctors to determine how long he will be out of action. Ryan O?Byrne was taking Mara?s spot in the lineup at home Saturday night. Martin also said that forward Sergei Kostitsyn might return against New York after missing 10 games with an ankle injury.

Penguins forward Pascal Dupuis sustained an undisclosed facial injury while being rammed face-first into the boards by the Islanders defenseman Andy Sutton with 2:55 remaining in Pittsburgh?s 6-4 victory on Tuesday night, as reported by the Associated Press.

The Blue Jackets have placed forward Fredrik Modin on Injured Reserve retroactive to January 7 and activated defenseman Marc Methot off Injured Reserve, club GM Scott Howson announced on Monday. Modin has missed the past five games after being injured at Edmonton on January 7. He has tallied one goal and one assist for two points and 12 penalty minutes in 14 games this season. Methot has missed the past 12 games since being injured at Dallas on December 23. He has appeared in 31 games this season, collecting 1-3-4 and 35 penalty minutes.

The Stars placed defenseman Nicklas Grossman on injured reserve with a lower-body injury Saturday and recalled defenseman Maxime Fortunus from the Texas Stars of the AHL, as reported by ESPN.com.

Coyotes GM Don Maloney announced on Thursday that the Coyotes have activated forward Daniel Winnik off of Injured Reserve. In addition, forward Scottie Upshall has been placed on Injured Reserve, retroactive to Jan. 2, 2010.
