Kane Will Skate Against St. Louis

Jul 25, 2014 2:03 AM

The Blackhawks will have Patrick Kane back in the lineup when they take on the Blues on Tuesday night. Kane has been cleared to play and will be in the lineup skating with Jonathan Toews and Troy Brouwer. "[It's] pretty exciting, pretty happy about it, too," Kane said Tuesday morning. He missed the past eight games with an ankle injury he suffered spinning away from a check in a game against Calgary earlier this month. "It's probably as good as it's going to get for a while," Kane said. "I might have to deal with it for a little bit but that's another thing I'll have to worry about. "I don't feel it on the ice. Hopefully it's the same way during a game. That would be awesome, but I'm sure it's going to be a little different in a game atmosphere."

"I'm really happy with the last couple days, [but] I think once you get in a game it's a little bit different," Kane said after practice on Monday. "For now I'm pretty happy with it."

Hossa To Return Against Blue Jackets

Jul 14, 2014 8:15 AM

The Blackhawks will get two of their walking wounded back in the lineup, as Marian Hossa and Viktor Stalberg were declared ready to go for Sunday's game against the Blue Jackets. Hossa, who missed 10 games after colliding with teammate Nick Boynton in practice last month, said the extra three days off for the holidays did the trick. "It was enough back-skating with assistant coaches and stuff," Hossa said after practice Sunday morning. "It's definitely more fun to play, and being in action, than being on the sidelines."
