Just four games after making his season debut, Los Angeles Kings forward Viktor Arvidsson returned to long-term injured reserve Saturday.

Arvidsson will be sidelined with a lower-body injury after missing the first 50 games of the season following back surgery in October.

Washington Capitals right wing T.J. Oshie left with a noncontact injury in the third period of a 5-3 win at the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night.

Oshie went down to the ice after making a move near the offensive blue line. He crawled along the boards to the bench and needed assistance back to the locker room.

Capitals coach Spencer Carbery said there is a "fairly high" level of concern about Oshie's injury.

Blake Wheeler's regular season is over after falling to the ice and injuring his right leg, and it might take the New York Rangers going on a lengthy playoff run to open the door for a possible return this spring, according to multiple reports.

Wheeler was placed on injured reserve Friday.

Connor Bedard is returning to the Chicago Blackhawks lineup Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins, sources told ESPN.

The return is earlier than expected for Bedard, who fractured his jaw six weeks ago. The Blackhawks had initially penciled in next week for a return. The game is at the United Center in Chicago.

Dallas Stars forward Evgenii Dadonov is sidelined indefinitely because of a lower-body fracture, coach Pete DeBoer announced Tuesday.

Dadonov logged just 8:35 of ice time in the Stars' 3-2 win against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday.

"He had an X-ray in Montreal, and it didn't show anything," DeBoer said. "He came back home, and it wasn't getting any better, so we had more detailed pictures taken, so he's out for a while here. There's a fracture. They're making decisions now on whether screws have to be put in, things like that, but it's not good news."

The Chicago Blackhawks hope star rookie Connor Bedard can return to game action next week after missing six weeks with a fractured jaw.

Bedard, the No. 1 pick of the 2023 NHL draft, suffered the injury Jan. 5 when on the receiving end of a big hit from New Jersey Devils defenseman Brendan Smith.

San Jose Sharks winger Tomas Hertl will miss several weeks after having his left knee cleaned to remove loose cartilage, the team announced Monday.

The Sharks said in a statement that an exact timeline for when Hertl could return has yet to be determined. In the interim, the Sharks are expected to monitor Hertl's rehabilitation with the intent to provide an update at a later time.

Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Antti Raanta will be out at least two weeks because of a lower-body injury.

Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour told reporters of Raanta's status following the team's morning skate on Saturday.

The Tampa Bay Lightning announced Thursday that defenseman Mikhail Sergachev underwent surgery to stabilize fractures to his left tibia and fibula.

There is no timetable for his return to the ice.

Sergachev, 25, left Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the host New York Rangers on a stretcher in the second period.

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Mattias Samuelsson will miss the remainder of the season after he undergoes surgery to repair an upper-body injury, the team announced Sunday.

Samuelsson, 23, has been idle since playing in Buffalo's 4-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Jan. 23.
