The Kings have recalled defenseman Alec Martinez from the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL and placed defenseman Randy Jones on the injured reserve list (retroactive to Dec. 16), Kings President/GM Dean Lombardi announced today. Martinez has played in two games with the Kings this season, his first in the NHL. The 6-1, 208-pound native of Rochester Hills, Michigan, has also played in 19 games with Manchester this season, recording eight points, six penalty minutes and a plus-3 rating. Jones suffered an upper body injury during the Kings-Oilers game on Dec. 15. The 6-2, 200-pound native of Quispamsis, New Brunswick has recorded 12 points and 12 penalty minutes in 18 games this season.
