Dec 21, 2014 2:28 AM

Goaltender Corey Crawford will start for the Blackhawks against the Blue Jackets on Saturday after missing eight games with a lower-body injury.

Crawford has been out since he injured himself leaving a concert on Dec. 1. He is 12-5-1 this season.

"The timing's there, I'm seeing shots real well," Crawford said after the team's practice on Friday. "I'm good to go. ... I'm going to play [Saturday]."

Quenneville: Hit On Jonathan Toews 'Dangerous'

Dec 14, 2014 5:16 PM

The Blackhawks apparently dodged a bullet Thursday night as center and captain Jonathan Toews is expected to be OK after leaving the team's win over the Bruins in the second period.

Toews suffered what Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville labeled an upper-body injury on a hard hit into the boards from Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg.

"He seemed all right. We'll see how he is tomorrow," Quenneville said. "Looks like he's going to be all right."
