Canucks forward Alex Burrows has had surgery on his shoulder to repair damage sustained during the season, according to an Associated Press report.
GM Mike Gillis said the surgery on Monday was a success and that Burrows will begin a rehab program.

Hossa Played With Sprained MCL
Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa said Saturday that he played the Stanley Cup finals with a sprained MCL in his right knee.
"In Game 1, I sprained my MCL, so it was kind of a little difficult," Hossa said. "But you don't feel the pain as much compared to if you lose, it would be more painful."
Hossa played with two braces and also dealt with the lingering effects of shoulder surgery all season.

Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik has undergone surgery to repair a sports hernia and will require a month to six weeks of rehabilitation, according to an Associated Press report on Friday.
Rangers' Anisimov Undergoes Successful Wrist Surgery
Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that forward Artem Anisimov underwent successful surgery earlier today to remove a small bone chip in his right wrist.
He sustained the injury on May 23 while skating with Russia in the Gold Medal game at the World Championship in Cologne, Germany. The procedure was performed by Dr. Martin Posner at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York. Anisimov is expected to make a full recovery in four to six weeks.
