T.J. Oshie is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury, further depleting the Washington Capitals' forward depth.

Oshie and defenseman John Carlson, who is day to day with a lower-body injury, will not play when Washington visits the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday.

Jamie Drysdale could be out the rest of the regular season for the Anaheim Ducks.

The 20-year-old defenseman will have surgery for a torn labrum and is expected to be sidelined 4-6 months. Drysdale was injured in a 4-0 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday. 

The New Jersey Devils placed veteran forward Ondrej Palat on injured reserve Saturday.

The move, which is retroactive to Oct. 24, comes after Palat missed the Devils' previous two games, including Friday's 1-0 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.

In the team's news release Saturday, the Devils labeled Palat's injury "lower-body," and said he will meet with doctors Monday to make "a final determination" on the next course of action.

Chicago Blackhawks forward Tyler Johnson has been placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury.

Johnson has been off to a great start with two goals and four assists in six games for a Chicago team that has surprisingly won four straight games.

Brad Marchand will make his season debut when the Boston Bruins host the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday night.

The winger is coming off double hip surgery and is returning approximately one month ahead of schedule.

"As soon as it came up that I was going to have the surgery, they told me it was going to kind of be end of November (before he returned). I said, 'It's not going to be the end of November,'" Marchand told reporters. "We're going to see what we can do."

Philadelphia Flyers veteran forward James van Riemsdyk will undergo surgery on Friday to repair a broken finger suffered in Sunday's loss to the San Jose Sharks.

Van Riemsdyk, 33, will miss roughly a month after a solid start to the season under first-year coach John Tortorella. The left wing has two goals, and is third on the team with five points through six games.

The Florida Panthers will be without Aaron Ekblad until at least mid-November, and quite possibly longer, after placing the star defenseman on the long-term injured reserve list with a groin injury.

Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will be sidelined about 12 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.

Coach Jared Bednar said after morning skate Wednesday that Landeskog had the procedure performed in Minneapolis the day before. Landeskog missed the opening three games of this season with what the team described as a lower-body injury.

"Started bugging him when he started training and getting back on the ice," said Bednar, whose team hosts the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday night. "So they had it looked at, images taken. Decided on surgery."

Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi is expected to be out for four to six weeks with an upper-body injury.

The team made the announcement Monday before hosting the Los Angeles Kings. Bertuzzi helped Detroit win its first two games this season, giving the rebuilding team a much-needed solid start.

The Toronto Maple Leafs placed goaltender Matt Murray on long-term injured reserve Saturday with an adductor injury. He's expected to miss at least four weeks.

Murray left the team's morning skate earlier in the day with what coach Sheldon Keefe later called "groin discomfort." Toronto is hosting Ottawa -- Murray's former team -- on Saturday and Murray was expected to start.
