The Toronto Maple Leafs continued to add ahead of the NHL's trade deadline by acquiring defenseman Jake McCabe, forward Sam Lafferty, and a conditional fifth-round draft choice in both 2024 and 2025 from the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday.

Toronto sent a conditional first-round pick in 2025, a second-round pick in 2026, and forwards Joey Anderson and Pavel Gogolev back to Chicago as part of the deal. The Blackhawks will also retain 50% of McCabe's $4 million cap hit through the 2024-25 season.

The Tampa Bay Lightning traded for second-year Nashville Predators forward Tanner Jeannot on Sunday in a move that arms one team seeking a fourth straight Stanley Cup Finals appearance while the other continues its transition into a new reality.

The New Jersey Devils have acquired Timo Meier from the San Jose Sharks, a source confirmed to ESPN on Sunday.

Meier will be a restricted free agent this offseason, with a $10 million qualifying offer this summer. According to a source, the trade to New Jersey does not include an extension, as the Devils plan to use Meier as a "rental" and then explore the possibility of a long-term deal later.

The Nashville Predators announced on Sunday that general manager David Poile -- the winningest GM in NHL history and Nashville's only GM to date -- is retiring after 26 seasons with the club. The move will be effective June 30.

According to a press release, Poile -- who also holds the title of president of hockey operations -- will remain with the organization as an advisor, serving the team's ownership, its business operations leadership group, and the hockey operations department.

Barry Trotz, the first coach in Predators' history, will take over from Poile as Nashville's next general manager. He'll be in charge of "all facets of the Predators' hockey operations department, including the coaching and scouting staffs, player procurement and development, as well as minor league affiliations and operations."

The St. Louis Blues have traded winger Ivan Barbashev to the Vegas Golden Knights in a move featuring two teams going in different directions.

In return, the Blues pick up prospect center Zach Dean. A first-round pick of the Golden Knights in 2021, Dean has scored 24 goals and 49 points in 50 games in the QMJHL this season.

A pair of bottom-six wingers swapped places Sunday when the Dallas Stars acquired Evgenii Dadonov from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Denis Gurianov.

With the NHL trade deadline less than a week away, Kane has been rumored to leave the Blackhawks with the idea that the New York Rangers could land his services.

The Nashville Predators traded right wing Nino Niederreiter to the Winnipeg Jets for a second-round draft pick in 2024, both teams announced on Saturday.

Niederreiter, 30, was signed by the Predators as a free agent last season to a two-year, $8 million contract. He had 18 goals and 10 assists in 56 games for Nashville, averaging 16 minutes, 3 seconds in ice time per game.
