Mark Streit Agrees To Join Canadiens

The Canadiens have agreed to terms with veteran defenseman Mark Streit, who is returning to the team that launched his NHL career.

According to multiple reports, Streit gets a $700,000 base salary but can earn $300,000 more in bonuses.

"If someone told me 10 years ago that I'd be back playing with the Canadiens ... It's a dream," Streit said, according to the Canadiens' Twitter feed.

Coyotes Sign Jordan Martinook To Two-Year, $3.6M Deal

The Arizona Coyotes have signed restricted free-agent forward Jordan Martinook to a two-year, $3.6 million contract, avoiding arbitration.

The contract, announced Saturday, will pay Martinook $1.75 million this season and $1.85 million next year.

The Rangers have signed center Mika Zibanejad to a five-year, $26.75 million deal.

The Rangers are counting on him to take on a bigger role following the trade of Derek Stepan to the Coyotes.

GM Jeff Gorton announced the contract Tuesday morning, before the team and Zibanejad were set to go to arbitration.

Sabres Re-Sign Robin Lehner

Johnny Oduya Signs One-Year, $1M Deals with Senators

Defenseman Johnny Oduya has signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Senators that includes bonus provisions that could add up to another $1.25 million.

He can achieve bonuses for games played, time on the ice and various playoff incentives.

Oduya, 35, had two goals and nine points in 52 games last season between the Stars and Blackhawks.

Penguins, Brian Dumoulin Agree To Six-Year, $24.6M Deal

The Penguins have locked up one of their young defensemen, agreeing to a deal with Brian Dumoulin on a six-year, $24.6 million contract to avoid arbitration.

Predators Re-Sign Viktor Arvidsson To Seven-Year, $29.75M Deal

The Nashville Predators are making sure they keep Viktor Arvidsson, re-signing him to a seven-year deal worth $29.75 million.

General manager David Poile announced the deal Saturday night, hours after the team and Arvidsson went to arbitration. Arvidsson will count $4.25 million against the salary cap through 2022-23 after a 45-point scoring improvement from 2015-16 in his first full season with the Predators.

Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has agreed to terms with free agent goaltender Alexandar Georgiev.

Georgiev, 21, appeared in 27 games with TPS Turku of Liiga in Finland this past season, posting a 13-8-4 record, along with a 1.70 GAA, a .923 SV%, and two shutouts. He established Liiga career-bests in appearances, wins, GAA, and SV%, and tied his career-high in shutouts in 2016-17.
