Peter Chiarelli Joins Oilers Front-Office

The Oilers are making sweeping front-office changes after another disappointing season.

Patrick LaForge stepped down as president and chief operating officer Friday, while Craig MacTavish will move from general manager to a job yet to be determined.

Peter Chiarelli, fired earlier this month as general manager of the Bruins, was appointed president of hockey operations. Kevin Lowe will transition out of hockey operations but remain vice chairman of Oilers Entertainment Group.

Stars Sign John Klingberg To Seven-Year Deal

John Klingberg, who led all NHL rookie defensemen in assists and points, has signed a seven-year extension with the Stars, the team announced Friday.

A source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun that the deal is worth $29.75 million, an average of $4.25 million per season.

"John is a very special player, possessing a creativity and skill level that few in this League can match," Stars GM Jim Nill said in a statement.

Predators Sign Steve Moses To One-Year, $1M Deal

Predators President of Hockey Operations/GM David Poile announced today that the club has signed free-agent forward Steve Moses to a one-year, $1 million contract for the 2015-16 season.

Moses, 25, set the Kontinental Hockey League goal-scoring record in 2014-15, netting 36 goals in 60 games for Jokerit (Helsinki, Finland) during the club’s inaugural season in the Russia-based league. 

The winger played four seasons at the University of New Hampshire from 2008-12, recording 98 points (47g-51a) in 148 collegiate games, including 22 goals in 37 games as a senior in 2011-12, which ranked him among the Top 15 in the NCAA.

Canucks Sign Derek Dorsett, Luca Sbisa To Extensions

The Canucks signed forward Derek Dorsett to a four-year contract extension and defenseman Luca Sbisa to a three-year deal Wednesday, according to an ESPN.com report.

The 28-year-old Dorsett has career highs with 25 points and 18 assists in his first season with the Canucks.

Kings Sign Tanner Pearson To Two-Year Extension

Tanner Pearson has signed a two-year, $2.8 million contract extension with the Los Angeles Kings.

Pearson has scored 23 points in 67 games with the Kings. He played a prominent role last year in the Kings' run to their second championship in three seasons, scoring 12 points in 24 games on the so-called "That '70s Line" with Jeff Carter and Tyler Toffoli. All three players have jersey numbers in the 70s.
