Former NHL player Mike Danton has been granted full parole after pleading guilty five years ago in a failed murder-for-hire plot, according to an ESPN.com report on Friday.
The decision followed a hearing before the National Parole Board.

Theo Fleury was cleared by the NHL to return to competition on Thursday, the league said in a news release, according to an ESPN.com report.
When he left the league after the 2002-03 season, the forward was under indefinite suspension for violating the substance abuse policy.
Fleury has been sober for four years with the help of Alcoholic's Anonymous and the support of his family.

William Del Biaggio III was sentenced to more than eight years in prison for bilking investors and banks on Tuesday.
The disgraced scion of a prominent San Jose family is to report to prison in January.
Del Biaggio pleaded guilty to one charge of forging financial documents to obtain $110 million in loans from several banks and two NHL owners -- Craig Leopold of the Minnesota Wild and Los Angeles Kings owner AEG.
He used the money to purchase a controlling interest in the Nashville Predators.

The head of Ice Edge insists that his bid is still alive and will be viable when the bankrupt Coyotes are sold at auction next week.
"We remain confident we will finalize everything that needs to be done by Thursday," Ice Edge CEO Anthony LeBlanc told The Associated Press.
