Domestic Violence Charge Against Milan Lucic Dropped

Feb 16, 2024 3:12 PM

Prosecutors dropped a domestic violence charge against Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic on Friday, saying the decision by his wife to invoke marital privilege made it impossible for them to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.

After his wife opted not to testify, the motion by prosecutors to admit 911 call information into evidence was denied, effectively ending their court case, they said.

Marty Walsh: Coyotes' Arena Limbo 'Not A Way To Run A Business'

Feb 2, 2024 6:02 PM

NHLPA executive director Marty Walsh believes the Arizona Coyotes should relocate if there isn't a suitable arena plan in place by the end of the 2023-24 NHL season.

"If there's no plan in Arizona, I would encourage a move to another location, absolutely," said Walsh, speaking at NHL All-Star Weekend on Friday. "I think the league feels that Arizona is a good market and I can understand that. The issue I have, and the players have, is how long do you wait to get a home? They're playing in a college arena and they're the second tenant in that arena. This is not the way to run a business."

NHL Won't Interfere With Hockey Canada Probe

Feb 2, 2024 6:00 PM

The NHL will not release its finding from a yearlong investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a woman by multiple players from the 2018 Canadian world junior hockey team until ongoing judicial proceedings have been completed by London, Ontario, police.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman told reporters Friday the NHL had concluded its investigatory process and was prepared to share information with the NHL Players' Association when news came down last week that police in London -- where the alleged assault took place in June 2018 -- were charging five current or former NHL players with involvement in the case.
