Former Bruins player and coach Mike Milbury won't face criminal charges for a confrontation he had with a 12-year-old boy after a youth hockey game, a spokesman for Milbury said.
The spokesman made the announcement after a closed-door hearing Friday in Brookline District Court, where police and witnesses appeared before a court official.
Police had sought to have Milbury charged with assault and battery, making threats and disorderly conduct.
They said he grabbed, shook and threatened a boy who was fighting with his 12-year-old son on Dec. 9.

Former Bruins player and coach Mike Milbury has been charged with assault and battery on a child after an incident at a pee-wee hockey game.
Milbury, who is currently an NHL analyst for several networks, also was charged with threats to commit a crime and disorderly conduct after allegedly verbally and physically assaulting a 12-year-old boy during a Dec. 9 game at the rink at Larz Andersen Park in Brookline, Mass.
He is an assistant coach for his son's team in the league. During an exhibition game, his son got into a scrape with an opponent.
According to the Boston Herald, Milbury charged onto the ice and berated and shook the the opposing player.

Former junior hockey coach and convicted sex offender Graham James has pleaded guilty to sexual assaults involving two of his former players, including NHL star Theo Fleury.
The move marks another chapter in what has become one of Canadian hockey's darkest stories.
James entered the plea in a Winnipeg courtroom Wednesday via video link from Montreal.
The disgraced coach was originally facing nine charges of sexual assault involving three players spanning 1979 to 1994, but only pleaded guilty to charges involving two.
The names of the two other players are protected under a court-ordered publication ban.
Matthew Barnaby Charged With DWI
ESPN hockey analyst Matthew Barnaby was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on Monday morning.
Barnaby was arrested by members of the Erie County Sheriff's Department after deputies were called to respond to a Porsche Cayenne driving on its front rim, causing sparks.
An ESPN spokesperson said the network is looking into the situation, but had no further comment.
