Ovechkin Say's Foot Is Healing Well

Alex Ovechkin says his broken left foot is healing well after playing almost three full games on it last month, according to an ESPN.com report.

"Right now, I'm walking fine," Ovechkin said during a conference call Sunday. "I'm going to start playing tennis soon so I'm going to be in good shape. ... It's kind of getting better. I feel pretty good about my foot."

Andy McDonald Retires Due To Concussions

Blues forward Andy McDonald has decided to retire, becoming the latest NHL player to have his career shortened by concussions, according to an ESPN.com report on Thursday.

A veteran of 685 career games, the 35-year-old has opted to stop playing rather than put his future at risk with another bad hit.

Keith: High-Stick On Carter Was Accidental

Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith said he accidentally high-sticked Kings forward Jeff Carter in the face in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals.

The NHL player safety group is reviewing the incident, in which Keith opened a gash requiring stitches on Carter's face.

A source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun that the NHL will have a disciplinarian hearing with Keith on Wednesday.

Kings center Mike Richards will miss his second consecutive game in the Western Conference finals due to a suspected concussion, according to an ESPN.com report. 

Kings head coach Darryl Sutter confirmed Tuesday morning that Richards remains sidelined and won't dress for Game 3 against the Blackhawks.
