Callahan, Hagelin Have Successful Shoulder Surgeries

Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that both Ryan Callahan and Carl Hagelin underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in each of their left shoulders.

The procedures were performed by Dr. Andrew Feldman earlier today at the NYU Langone Medical Center's Hospital for Joint Diseases in Manhattan.

Jarret Stoll Remains 'Day To Day'

Kings center Jarret Stoll practiced Thursday without a no-contact jersey for the first time in more than two weeks, but his status for Game 1 of the Western Conference finals against the Blackhawks on Saturday remains uncertain.

Stoll was hit in the head by Sharks left winger Raffi Torres in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals on May 14 and hasn't played since.

Crosby Cleared For Traditional Helmet

Cleared to play without a plastic apparatus protecting his lower face for the first time since returning from a broken jaw, Sidney Crosby said he'll need a few days to adjust.

Crosby wore a traditional helmet with no mouth or jaw protection during the Penguins' practice Sunday, according to an ESPN.com report.

Ricahrds A Healthy Scratch For Rangers

Veteran center Brad Richards will be a healthy scratch Thursday night as the Rangers face elimination against the Bruins in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, according to an ESPN.com report.

Richards told reporters that coach John Tortorella called him to tell him the news Thursday morning.

"I don't know if 'surprised' is the right word, just disappointed," Richards said with an air of dejection.

Lundqvist Plans To Play Despite Sore Shoulder

Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist suffered a left shoulder injury late in Game 2 on Sunday, but he plans on battling through it.

Lundqvist hurt his shoulder with 4:52 remaining in the third period after making a save on Bruins winger Daniel Paille.

Game 3 is Tuesday at Madison Square Garden.

"Yeah, it's under control," Lundqvist said after practice Monday, according to an ESPN.com report.

The team said Staal underwent an MRI on his right knee Saturday and it revealed a third-degree sprain of his medial collateral ligament.
