Colorado Avalanche forward Andrew Cogliano suffered a fracture in his neck during Game 6 in Seattle on Friday, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press, confirming multiple reports.

Cogliano is sidelined indefinitely, according to the person who spoke to the AP on Saturday night on condition of anonymity because the team has not announced the injury.

Winnipeg Jets star forward Mark Scheifele, who suffered an upper-body injury in the team's loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday night, is day-to-day and could suit up for Game 5 with the Jets facing elimination.

Scheifele left in the first period of Game 4 because of the injury. The Jets lost 4-2 to fall behind 3-1 in their first-round Western Conference playoff series.

"I just talked to Mark and he is feeling better than he did [Monday] night," Winnipeg coach Rick Bowness told reporters Tuesday. "So, he's definitely [considered] day-to-day. Let's put him in the hopeful category for Thursday."

Calgary Flames forward Andrew Mangiapane had shoulder surgery but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, the team announced Tuesday.

Mangiapane, 27, has played in every possible game for the Flames in each of the past three seasons.

Winnipeg Jets' defenseman Josh Morrissey has been ruled out for the remainder of their first-round NHL playoff series against the Vegas Golden Knights after suffering a lower-body injury in Game 3 on Saturday.

Jets' coach Rick Bowness made the announcement shortly after Winnipeg's 5-4 loss in double overtime to the Golden Knights, to put them down 2-1 in the series.

Carolina Hurricanes forward Teuvo Teravainen is sidelined indefinitely after undergoing surgery on his broken left hand, the team announced Saturday.

Teravainen, 28, suffered the injury after being slashed by New York Islanders forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau during the third period of Carolina's 4-3 overtime victory on Wednesday. The Hurricanes hold a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference first-round series heading into Game 4 on Sunday afternoon.

Boston Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron did not travel with the team and is expected to miss Games 3 and 4 of their Eastern Conference first-round matchup against the Florida Panthers this weekend.

Coach Jim Montgomery said on Friday that his star center is "likely" to return in Game 5.

Carolina Hurricanes winger Teuvo Teravainen will miss the remainder of the first round after suffering a broken hand in his team's 4-3 overtime win Wednesday against the New York Islanders.

Dallas Stars forward Joe Pavelski is in concussion protocol and will miss Game 2 against the visiting Minnesota Wild on Wednesday night, coach Peter DeBoer confirmed.

"I don't think that's a secret," DeBoer said Wednesday morning.

Pavelski was injured on a high hit by Wild defenseman Matt Dumba in the second period of the Stars' 3-2 double-overtime loss in Monday's series opener.

Boston Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron is questionable for Game 2 of their series against the Florida Panthers, coach Jim Montgomery said Tuesday.

Bergeron was a game-time decision for Boston's Game 1 victory on Monday but didn't end up taking the pregame skate. The center left the Bruins' regular-season finale at Montreal with an upper-body injury and was battling an illness that had swept through the Boston dressing room.

Dallas Stars forward Joe Pavelski had to be helped off the ice in the second period of Monday's Western Conference playoff opener against Minnesota after taking a massive hit from Wild defenseman Matt Dumba.

Pavelski, 38, lay still for several seconds and was slow to move as a member of the Stars' athletic training staff rushed onto the ice.

Pavelski was able to get to his knees and speak to the trainer before he skated over to the bench, escorted by the trainer and Stars forward Mason Marchment. Pavelski nearly lost his balance at one point. 

The Stars said Pavelski was doing "OK" afterward, but his status for Game 2 on Wednesday night was uncertain.
