Jack Eichel Could Play For Sabres On Tuesday

Sabres center Jack Eichel declared he's cleared every hurdle in recovering from a sprained left ankle, and coach Dan Bylsma said there's a possibility the center will make his season debut at Ottawa on Tuesday.

"We'll see," Bylsma said Monday, giving no guarantees that Eichel will play against the Senators. But Bylsma noted he was impressed by how the player performed during consecutive days of rigorous practices.

Steven Stamkos Out Four Months After Knee Surgery

Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos underwent surgery on the lateral meniscus tear in his right knee and is expected to miss approximately four months, the team announced on Thursday.

The Lightning said Wednesday that Stamkos was out indefinitely, but coach Jon Cooper said the center would be back in time for the playoffs in April.

“Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos suffered a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee during the team’s game against the Detroit Red Wings Tuesday night and will remain out of the lineup indefinitely,” said Lightning General Manager Steve Yzerman. “We are in the process of evaluating options for repair and rehabilitation and will release more information as it becomes available.”

Steven Stamkos To Have Injured Leg Examined

Lightning captain Steven Stamkos is leaving the team's current road trip to return to Tampa to have his injured right leg examined, the team confirmed Wednesday morning.

The Lightning star left Tuesday's game in Detroit in the first period favoring his right leg after getting tangled up with Detroit's Gustav Nyquist along the boards.

Zach Bogosian Out Indefinitely With Sprained MCL

Sabres defenseman Zach Bogosian is out indefinitely with a sprained ligament in one of his knees.

Coach Dan Bylsma said Bogosian sprained his MCL and will miss several weeks. Bylsma provided the update Thursday, before the Sabres host the Maple Leafs.

Bogosian was hurt in the first period of Buffalo's win at Minnesota on Tuesday.
