It will likely take another injury or perhaps a loss to prompt coach Darryl Sutter to shake up his personnel and put Gagne into action. "It's going to take something for me to get in," Gagne said.

Devils defenseman Henrik Tallinder, sidelined since mid-January due to a blood clot in his lower left leg, has been cleared to play and will be available for his team's Stanley Cup finals series against the Kings. "I'm cleared, but it's not my decision if I'm going to play," Tallinder said. "But I'm ready if they need me."

The Rangers will head into the offseason unable to count on Michael Sauer returning from a concussion in time to start next season, coach John Tortorella revealed on Monday.
