In a statement issued Sunday, the Kings said Hardy resigned on Friday, according to an Associated Press report.

Former Wings Coach Kromm Dies At 82
Former Red Wings coach Bobby Kromm has died, as reported by the Associated Press on Friday.
The Fred Wood Funeral Home in Livonia, near Detroit, said Kromm died Wednesday, one day after his 82nd birthday. The team says on its Web site the cause was complications from colon cancer.
