Police Investigating Fleury's Complaint

Winnipeg police are investigating the criminal complaint filed by former Calgary Flames star Theo Fleury alleging he was sexually assaulted by his junior ice hockey coach. ?Members of the Winnipeg Police Service Sex Crimes Unit have entered into an investigation as result of a compliant filed by Mr. Theoren Fleury,? police said in a statement on Friday.

KHL Doles Out Heavy Fines To Vityaz, Avangard

The KHL handed heavy penalties on Sunday to Vityaz Chekhov and Avangard Omsk after their match had been abandoned following an ugly brawl, as reported by ESPN.com. Saturday's game in Chekhov had to be stopped after only three minutes 39 seconds when both squads jumped on to the ice to exchange punches. Officials had no choice but to cancel the contest because the teams did not have enough players left to continue the game. It was the first time a Russian hockey game has been called off due to a mass brawl.

Chelios Booked For DUI

Chicago Wolves defenseman Chris Chelios was arrested for driving under the influence, speeding and improper lane usage on December 28 in Westmont, Ill., according to an ESPN.com report. Chelios was the sole occupant of the pick-up truck that was stopped, according to Westmont police. The truck was towed and Chelios was taken to the Westmont station, where he was charged, processed and posted bond.
