Panthers Sign Aleksander Barkov To New Deal

The Panthers have signed starting center Aleksander Barkov to a six-year extension.

The extension is worth an average of $5.9 million per season, a source told ESPN's Pierre LeBrun.

Barkov is third on the Atlantic Division-leading Panthers in scoring, with 12 goals and 18 assists in 38 games this season.

Rangers Sign Daniel Paille

The Rangers have signed veteran forward Daniel Paille, according to an ESPN.com report.

General manager Jeff Gorton announced the signing of the 10-year veteran Thursday. Paille has played in 31 games with the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL, collecting a goal and three assists.

Kings, Anze Kopitar Agree To New Eight-Year Deal

The Kings and forward Anze Kopitar have agreed to terms on an 8-year contract extension, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

The extension begins at the start of the 2016-17 season and culminates at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
 
Kopitar, 28, has spent his entire NHL career with the Kings after the club selected him in the first-round (11th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.  In 725 regular season games he has 645 points, while in 70 postseason games he has 60 points en route to two Stanley Cups.

Blackhawks Sign Joel Quenneville To Three-Year Extension

The Blackhawks signed head coach Joel Quenneville to a three-year extension through the 2019-20 season, the team announced Tuesday.

Quenneville, who has led the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cup championships, has a 343-168-69 record during his tenure in Chicago, which is now in its eighth season.

Stars Give GM Jim Nill Five-Year Extension

The Stars have announced a five-year contract extension for GM Jim Nill.

The deal keeps Nill under contract through the 2022-23 season.

"In just over two years, Jim has helped instill a culture of excellence within our organization, and extending that partnership to 2022-23 is vital for the direction of the hockey club," owner Tom Gaglardi said.

Panthers Sign GM Dale Tallon To Extension

The Panthers, who are a first-place team on New Year's Day for just the third time in franchise history, rewarded executive vice president and GM Dale Tallon with a multiyear extension Friday.

Terms weren't announced by the team but a person with knowledge of the negotiations told The Associated Press it was a three-year agreement.
