Gistedt, 20, collected a 4-4-3 record with a 3.84 goals against average (GAA) and a .857 save percentage (SV%) in 11 games with the Frolunda HC Indians of the Swedish Elite League last season. The 5-foot-11, 176-pound netminder also played 5 games for the Frolunda HC Indians of the Swedish Junior Elite League last season, posting a 5-0-0 record with a 1.38 GAA and .943 SV%.
The Coyotes selected Gistedt in the 2nd round (36th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. During the 2006-07 season, Gistedt registered a 2.58 GAA and .897 SV% in 35 games with Frolunda of the Swedish Elite League. A native of Uddevalla, Sweden, Gistedt also represented Team Sweden at the 2007 World Junior Championships and was rated by NHL Central Scouting as the No. 1 European goaltender available in last year?s draft.
