Slava Voynov To Resume Career After Serving Jail Time

Two-time Stanley Cup-winning defenseman Slava Voynov will resume his career with SKA St. Petersburg after serving time in jail on a domestic violence charge in the United States.

Voynov, a former defenseman with the Kings, was suspended for the final 76 games of the 2014-15 NHL season and returned to Russia after serving two months in jail, plus time in immigration custody.

In a brief statement, SKA says Voynov, 25, has signed a three-year contract.

Mike Richards and the Kings have reached a settlement, the NHL Players' Association announced Friday, officially severing ties between the player and team.

The amount of the settlement was not disclosed.
