Capitals defenseman Mike Green has been suspended for three games for elbowing Panthers forward Michael Frolik in the head.
The NHL announced the suspension on Saturday.
Green delivered the hit in the first period of Friday night's 4-1 win over the Panthers.

Cormier To Appeal Suspension
Devils draft pick Patrice Cormier will appeal his suspension for the remainder of the QMJHL season and playoffs for a violent hit on an opposing player, according to an Associated Press report.
Cormier, a 19-year-old forward selected in the second round of the 2008 draft by New Jersey, was disciplined by the QMJHL for elbowing Mikael Tam of the Quebec Remparts. The blow to the head sent Tam into convulsions on the ice.
The team announced Tuesday an appeal would be made.

Islanders defenseman Andy Sutton has been suspended two games without pay by the NHL after leaving the Penguins' Pascal Dupuis bloodied with a hit from behind.
Sutton will miss Thursday?s game against Florida and will sit Saturday against New Jersey, forfeiting more than $31,000 in salary. He?s eligible to return Jan. 26 against Washington, according to an Associated Press report.
NHL Suspends Coyotes' Jovanovski Two Games
Coyotes defenseman Ed Jovanovski has been suspended two games by the NHL for an elbow hit to the head of Islanders rookie John Tavares.
The suspension, announced Monday, is Jovanovski?s second of the season. He was also penalized two games on Dec. 9, according to an Associated Press report.
