Tom Wilson Won't Appeal Six-Game Suspension

Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson has decided not to appeal his six-game suspension for a high stick to the head of Toronto Maple Leafs forward Noah Gregor, a source told ESPN on Sunday night.

The NHL Department of Player Safety suspended Wilson on Friday. It's the sixth suspension of his career. Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Wilson will forfeit $161,458.32.

New York Rangers rookie forward Matt Rempe was suspended four games by the NHL Department of Player Safety on Tuesday after elbowing New Jersey Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler in the head Monday night.

It's the first suspension of Rempe's 10-game NHL career. Rempe will forfeit $17,083.32, with the money going to the players' emergency assistance fund.

NHL Suspends, Fines John Tortorella For Misconduct

Philadelphia Flyers coach John Tortorella was suspended two games and fined $50,000 for refusing to leave the bench after receiving a game misconduct and a bench minor in Saturday's 7-0 loss at the Tampa Bay Lightning, the league announced.

He will miss home games against the San Jose Sharks and Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.
