Coyotes defenseman Ed Jovanovski was suspended for two games by the NHL on Wednesday for a forearm to the head of Wild center Andrew Ebbett, according to an Associated Press report.

The NHL has suspended Flyers forward Dan Carcillo four games. The suspension came in the wake of his role in a fight that earned him 19 penalty minutes and a game misconduct against Washington on Saturday night.

Capitals star Alex Ovechkin was suspended for two games without pay by the NHL on Tuesday for a knee-to-knee hit on defenseman Tim Gleason in Monday night?s win over the Hurricanes, as reported by the Associated Press. Ovechkin?s first suspension will cost him $98,844.16 in salary. He?ll sit out Thursday against Florida and Saturday at Philadelphia, although his sore knee might have kept him out of one of the games anyway.
