Tortorella Regrets Throwing Water Bottle

Rangers head coach John Tortorella says he embarrassed the organization by throwing a water bottle into the crowd at Washington and being suspended by the NHL during the playoff series, according to an Associated Press report on Wednesday.. ?It?s a bad mistake by me,? Tortorella said. ?I regret it. I put the New York Rangers organization in an embarrassing situation. I?m embarrassed by it. I am an intense person, which is a positive, but it also turns into a negative sometimes.?

The NHL has suspended Bruins forward Milan Lucic for one game for a blow to the head in the third period of Game 2 of Saturday's playoff game against the Canadiens. Lucic delivered a cross-check to the head of Montreal forward Maxim Lapierre at the 15:28 mark of the third. "While it is unclear whether Lucic's glove or stick makes contact with Lapierre, what is clear is that he delivered a reckless and forceful blow to the head of his opponent," said NHL Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell.

Flyers' Carcillo Suspended By NHL

The NHL has suspended Flyers left winger Dan Carcillo for one game after hitting Penguins center Max Talbot in the head during Wednesday's playoff game. In the closing seconds of the game, Carcillo's stick appeared to hit Talbot in the head, although the Flyers winger said the replay was misleading. "I didn't hit him with my stick at all. I know I hit him with my hand," Carcillo said. "... My hand was over the stick."
