Sources: Ouellet, Lee Running The NHLPA For Now

Sources confirmed to ESPN.com on Saturday that the four-man review committee (Rob Blake, Chris Chelios, Nicklas Lidstrom and Mark Recchi) has asked Mike Ouellet, the union's chief of business affairs, and Rolland Lee, NHLPA associate counsel, to run the union office until the executive board (30 player reps) can reconvene and name an interim executive director and interim general counsel.

Rangers Assign Parenteau To Hartford

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced Saturday that forward P.A. Parenteau has been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League. Parenteau, 26, skated in two games with the Rangers and tallied his first career NHL goal on Wednesday against the Islanders. He returns to Hartford where has recorded eight goals and six assists for 14 points, along with 12 penalty minutes in nine games this season.

Blackhawks' Toews Misses Fourth Straight Game

Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews missed his fourth straight game because of concussion-like symptoms, sitting out Friday night against the Canadiens, according to an Associated Press report. Toews hasn?t resumed skating after a crushing open-ice hit from Vancouver?s Willie Mitchell on Oct. 21. Toews is listed as day-to-day.

Kings Send Lewis To AHL Manchester

The Kings have assigned forward Trevor Lewis to the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL, Kings President/GM Dean Lombardi announced today. Lewis has played in five games with the Kings this season and has recorded zero points. Last season, he had three points in six games with the Kings, scoring his first NHL goal on Dec. 20, 2008 at Detroit.

The shakeup continued at the NHL Players' Association on Friday with the resignation of interim executive director Ian Penny, a source confirmed to ESPN.com. Penny, who delivered a letter of resignation Friday, had been battling for weeks with player representative Chris Chelios, as the players' union fell into disarray after the surprise firing of executive director Paul Kelly in late August.

The Avalanche announced today that the team has recalled forward Philippe Dupuis from the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL. Dupuis has recorded four points in nine games for Lake Erie. In a related move, forward Matt Hendricks has been placed on the injured reserve list due to a groin injury. The Avalanche also announced today that goaltender Tyler Weiman has been reassigned to Lake Erie.
