John McDonough Moves Across Town To Join Blackhawks
John McDonough's job title stays the same. By moving just a few miles across town, though, he's got a new team to run in an entirely different sport.
McDonough resigned Tuesday as President of the Cubs - a team that is up for sale - to take a similar position with the Blackhawks, who offered him a multi-year contract he couldn't pass up.
"I do see parallels. We have a lot of work to do," McDonough said.
Stars Continue Shakeup, Name Cogen New President
The Stars continued to shake up their front office Wednesday, naming Jeff Cogen team President in place of Jim Lites, who is moving full-time to Hicks Sports Marketing Group.
Cogen had been serving as President of baseball's Rangers, which is also owned by Tom Hicks. No timetable for hiring a replacement with the Rangers was announced.
Stars Name Hull, Jackson Interim Co-GMs

Hull and Les Jackson were both made interim co-general managers of the Stars after the team fired Doug Armstrong on Tuesday.
Blue Jackets Sign Stefan Legein To 3-Year Entry Level Contract
The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed right wing Stefan Legein to a standard three-year entry level contract, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.
Legein, 18, has collected 16 goals and 10 assists for 26 points with 52 penalty minutes and is +7 in 17 games with the Niagara Ice Dogs of the Ontario Hockey League. He ranks third in the OHL in goals and 14th in points while ranking tied for second in shorthanded goals (3), tied for fourth in power play goals (8) and is tied for seventh in penalty minutes.
The Oakville, Ontario native registered 43-32-75 with 115 penalty minutes and was +31 in 64 games with Niagara (formerly Mississauga) last season. He was selected to play in the 2007 CHL Top Prospects Game and represented the Eastern Conference at the OHL All-Star Game, winning the fastest skater competition at the event. In 172 career OHL games, he has registered 53-46-99 and 253 penalty minutes.
Sharks Sign Ozolinsh
The Sharks signed defenceman Sandis Ozolinsh on Friday, adding the seven-time all-star to their roster after an extended tryout.
Ozolinsh, who fought injuries while scoring just three points in 21 games for the Rangers last season, spent the past six weeks proving his skills in the Sharks' organization, including a short stint with their AHL affiliate in Worcester. His deal is worth US $625,000.
Islanders Sign Arbour To Coach One Game
The Islanders made it official Friday, signing coaching legend Al Arbour to a one-day contract.
Arbour, who guided the Islanders to four straight Stanley Cups from 1980-83, will take the reins from Ted Nolan and be behind the bench for the 1,500th time in his career on Saturday night against the Penguins.
Senators Lock Up Spezza For $49 Million
The Senators locked up one of their franchise cornerstones Friday, re-signing center Jason Spezza to a seven-year contract.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but TSN of Canada is reporting the deal to be worth $49 million.

The Flyers signed left wing Patrick Maroon to an entry-level contract prior to their game against the Canadiens on Thursday.
Sabres Sign Pratt To One-Year Deal
The Sabres signed defenceman Nolan Pratt to a US $550,000, one-year deal on Thursday.
Pratt, a 10-year veteran, spent the past five years with Tampa Bay and was part of the Lightning's Stanley Cup-winning team in 2004.
