The Flyers have signed center Jeff Carter to an 11-year, $58 million contract extension, according a league source.
Carter, 25, was slated to restricted free-agent on July 1.
He scored a career-high 46 goals two years ago and had 33 goals last season.
Philadelphia selected Carter with the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Blues Sign Backes To Five-Year Deal
Blues forward David Backes has signed a five-year contract extension, eliminating the distraction of becoming an unrestricted free agent after the season.
The deal was worth $22.5 million total, a source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun.
"As much as you'd like to say you're mentally strong and you can block it out, it's something that does weigh on you," Backes said Friday. "I think it's human nature that you're thinking about it now and then.
"The Blues are making a big commitment to keep me here," he said.
Stars Sign Jack Campbell To Entry-Level Deal
The Stars have signed goaltender Jack Campbell to a three-year entry-level contract, according to an Associated Press report on Thursday.
The 18-year-old Campbell was the 11th pick in this year?s draft and has been playing for the Windsor Spitfires of the WHL. He is 6-5 with a 3.81 goals-against average in 12 games.
