Ten Weeks After A Stroke Letang Returns Against Wings

Less than three months after a stroke put his season in jeopardy, Kris Letang is back to work for the Penguins.

The defenseman made his return Wednesday night as the Penguins hosted the Red Wings, winning 4-3 in a shootout. 

Letang had an assist while playing 22 minutes, 30 seconds in his return.

The playoff hopes of the Maple Leafs now ride on backup goaltender James Reimer. Top goalie Jonathan Bernier is out a minimum of three weeks with an MCL strain, head coach Randy Carlyle said after practice Friday.

Hawks Will Be Cautious With Toews

Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews will sit out the team's six remaining regular-season games due to an upper-body injury but will return for the playoffs, coach Joel Quenneville said Wednesday.

"He's day to day," Quenneville said after practice Wednesday. "He's going to be 100 percent for the playoffs. We're not going to play him for the rest of these six games, so he'll be ready to go."
