Blues coach Ken Hitchcock disclosed his decision Monday.
Halak was injured in the second game of the Blues' series against the Sharks, leaving with an undisclosed lower-body injury that is believed to be a sprained left ankle he suffered during a collision with teammate Barret Jackman.
Injured Hossa Visits Teammates
Marian Hossa visited with his teammates at the United Center on Monday for the first time since he was forced out of Game 3 of Chicago's quarterfinal series against the Coyotes by a hit to the head.
"It was good to see him," coach Joel Quenneville said of seeing Hossa after the morning practice. "I talked to him last night. ... I'm sure his teammates and him as well, are glad to get a chance to see [him]."
