Coyotes, Gila River Casinos Agree On Naming-Rights Deal

The Coyotes and Gila River Casinos have agreed on a nine-year partnership that will include the first naming-rights deal by a federally recognized tribe with a venue for one of the four major professional sports leagues.

The agreement must be approved by the Glendale City Council during its meeting Sept. 9. The venue, which had been called Jobing.com Arena, will be known as Gila River Arena if the deal is approved.

Barroway Sues Isles' Wang For $10M

In talks to purchase the Islanders just a few months ago, hedge fund manager Andrew Barroway is now suing team owner Charles Wang for $10M amid allegations that Wang backed out of a deal to sell the team despite a handshake agreement between the two men.

The New York Daily News first reported the lawsuit Monday, less than a week after reports surfaced that talks between the two parties had ceased.

Former Sabres Owner Seeks To Buy NFL Bills

Fomrer NHL Sabres owner Tom Golisano has entered the running to purchase the NFL Buffalo Bills.

A person familiar with the sale process confirmed to The AP on Thursday that Golisano submitted a non-binding bid to Morgan Stanley, the banking firm overseeing the sale. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the sale is private.

The Buffalo News first reported Golisano's entry earlier in the day.
