Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with free agent forward Chris McCarthy.

McCarthy, 22, registered 18 goals and 24 assists for 42 points, along with 12 penalty minutes and a plus-16 rating in 38 games with the University of Vermont Catamounts of the Hockey East Association (HEA) this season. 

He has skated in 150 career NCAA contests over five seasons with Vermont, registering 46 goals and 68 assists for 114 points, along with 69 penalty minutes. Last season, McCarthy led the team in goals (13), assists (18), and points (31) while skating in 36 contests.

Haggerty, 21, registered 28 goals and 15 assists for 43 points, along with 42 penalty minutes and a plus-seven rating in 35 games with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) this season. He established career-highs in goals, assists, and points, while finishing third in the NCAA in goals and tied for eighth in points. 

The Blackhawks announced Monday that Brandon Bollig has agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension, according to an ESPN.com report.

Bollig, who was set to become an unrestricted free agent after the season, is now signed through the 2016-17 season.
